Jeff Yang’s exhibition on unmasking Asian images in comic books is coming to the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, reports Rafu Shimpo.
The show looks at how these portrayals shaped America’s perception of Asians through the decades.
Many of these images emerged in times of war when Asians were considered the enemy. Their impact remains today.
An opening reception will be held Thursday with the exhibition officially opening Saturday and running through February 9.
