A study by Qing Zhou, an assistant professor of psychology at UC Berkeley and head of the campus’ Culture and Family Laboratory, found that children raised by tiger parents “tend to develop more aggression and have more social problems.” reports XO Jane.
Zhou’s study followed 250 Chinese American immigrant families with kids (photo by Mark Forman) in the first and second grade.
A blog written by an anonymous writer challenges the study.
The headline pretty much says it all.

According to the article, here are a few signs you are a tiger kid.
- Your parents set unreasonable expectations for you.
- You were raised with an iron fist , broom handle or metal clothes hangar
- You are rarely the subject of any praise from your parents
- You aren’t allowed to stay out late.
- You’re required to do extra credit even when you already have an “A.”
