The early vote tallies are out in the NBA All Star balloting and once again Jeremy Lin is raising a few eyebrows.
Apparently bolstered by his international fan base, he is now in fourth place for two starting back court spots in the Western Conference.
Lin has 358,000 votes. That’s nearly 90,000 more than the superstar who plays alongside him in the Houston Rockets, James Harden.
Lin trails Stephen Curry, Chris Paul and Kobe Bryant who’s out with an injury.
This also happened last year when Lin wasn’t nearly having the season he’s having now.
While many of his detractors snicker at the thought of Lin making the All Star team, Jean Paul Salamanca of the Latino Post builds a good case for Lin making the team.
His shooting accuracy is greatly improved. His much maligned defense is showing flashes of brilliance. He’s also become one of the best sixth men in the league.
