The successful campaign by mostly Chinese American groups against bringing back affirmative action to college admissions in California is being compared to a Tea Party insurgence, reports Breitbart.
“They’re an insurgent group very much like the Tea Party,” UC Riverside political science professor Karthick Ramakrishnan said. “This might indeed snowball into something bigger.”
The Republican Party which had already assigned staffers to bring Asian Americans back into their party is optimistic this is their opportunity.
“This is a turning point for the Republican Party to really share their values with Asian Americans, ” said Peter Kuo who is running for State Senate.
But not everyone agrees. You can read about that in Breitbart.
What do you think about Asian Americans being compared to the Tea Party? Do you agree?
