Ellen Pao took the stand in her sex discrimination case Monday against her former employer Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, reported ABC7/KGO.
The case is shining a spotlight on gender inequality in Silcon Valley.
Pao said she originally turned down the job because she was offered a position she considered too junior. She later took the job after the offer was revised. She said her trouble started after she ended an affair with a colleague, Ajit Nazre, who she said misled her into thinking his wife had left him.
“When I found out he had lied to me and his wife had not left him, I ended it immediately and permanently. I was furious,” she said.

Pao is scheduled to take the stand again today.
