Update Friday 11 a.m. Eastern: Jeremy Lin is out of tonight’s game against Portland. No date has been set for his return.
Jeremy Lin suffered a sprained ankle Wednesday night and had to leave the game against the Utah Jazz.
Lin remained down for several minutes in obvious pain. He had gone in for a lay up and landed awkwardly. The Jazz grabbed the rebound and quickly moved the ball to their side of the court while Lin stayed on the floor, curled up and holding his ankle.
There’s no official word yet on how long Jeremy Lin will be out, if at all.
The Charlotte Hornets have an off day today, before heading to play Portland on Friday.
The news is better for Lin’s former Laker teammate, Jordan Clarkson.
The NBA announced that Clarkson has been selected to play in the Rising Stars Challenge in Toronto All Star weekend. Clarkson will play for Team USA against Team World.
The Filipino American is averaging 15.1 points and 2.5 assists per game for the Lakers.
