The latest in a seemingly never ending barrage of anti-affirmative action lawsuits has been filed by Edward Blum and his group Students for Fair Admissions, reports the Daily Princetonian.
The group is challenging the results of a federal investigation that determined there was no evidence that Princeton engaged in racial discrimination in it admissions decisions.
Blum has alleged the university’s consideration of race in admissions is biased against Asian Americans. His lawsuit accuses the Department of Education of violating the Freedom of Information Act for not responding in a timely matter to its request for documents related to that investigation.
The Supreme Court recently ruled in Fisher v Texas that the race based admissions program at the University of Texas was constitutional.
There are currently a number of similar lawsuits against numerous universities over affirmative action including Brown, Dartmouth, Yale, Harvard, and North Carolina.
