New York Woman Missing for Two Years Believed Dead

The disappearance of a nurse two years ago in the Bronx is now being called a homicide by police,  reports India West

Mahfuza Rahman was last seen leaving Bellevue Hospital on December 8, 2015.

The woman’s husband, Mohammad Chowdhury, is listed as a person of interest in the case and is believed to be hiding in Bangladesh, according to News 12. The station also reported that investigators say he purchased a camping axe shortly after his wife’s disappearance.

A friend told India West Chowdhury has remarried and is living in Comilla in Bangladesh.

Rahman’s friend, Tiani Morales, is working with the missing woman’s family in Bangladesh to keep the disappearance in the public’s eye.
