The University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, has responded on social media to outrage reported by AsAmNews over social media posts many found offensive to Asian men.
The post was originally reported as coming from a professor, but the university says its investigation has found a student was responsible.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean of Students has looked into this situation. The post in question, which occurred in 2017, involved a UW-Whitewater student, not an instructor or member of the faculty.

Campus administrators say appropriate action has been taken in response, but declined to disclose what that action might have been.
The Dean of Students office has taken the appropriate steps to address this situation, and no other comments can be made due to federal privacy issues covered by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

The university’s comments on the controversy have failed to calm the uproar.
My comment was deleted from your Facebook page. You don’t “care” at all. https://t.co/iGxxyfjogu

I’m a Whitewater alum and this does not surprise me at all. They still employ a marketing professor that once spoke in front of class about ‘African Americans loving fried chicken and watermelon.’ This was back in 2010.

Many questions remain about the issue, but the university has refused to answer them.
We’ve seen when racism and bias escalates and people are hurt physically. As much as we’ve drawn your attention to this matter, I’m sure our community wouldn’t mind sharing any preventative measures UWW is taking – to ease minds.

The original post is from 2017, but the exchange is recent. Just like with comments on your Facebook being deleted. Why does the date matter anyway when he is still part of your school? He is listed as a supplemental instructor. Surely that means he has classroom responsibilities
