A number of viewers winced during the Democratic presidential debate after an offhanded remark by Andrew Yang.
The candidate for president who has impressed many with his staying power said “I’m Asian and I know a lot of Asian doctors” while discussing health care reform and the load of paper work doctors fill out for insurance companies and to avoid being sued.
The remark while perhaps intended to be a joke didn’t sit well with some.
CNN reporter Kyung Lah also commented.
Others, however, said they understood what Yang meant.
