Kamala Harris favorite to replace Biden, poll finds

A recent poll found that Vice President Kamala is the favorite among Democrats to replace President Joe Biden if he doesn’t run for re-election in 2024.

According to the, Echelon Insights poll shows 21% or respondents surveyed prefer Harris. SF Gate reports she has a seven-point lead over U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who is second-favorite.

Most prominent Democrats favored in the poll have not discussed their intention to run. According to SF GATE, it is likely that Biden will run again in 2024. Several experts at FiveThirtyEight believe we could see Biden vs. Trump election again in 2024.

Nathaniel Rakich, senior elections analyst for FiveThirtyEight noted in a recent forum on the site that it is unlikely Harris will launch a campaign against her own running mate. FiveThirtyEight politics reporter Alex Samuels believes most potential Democratic candidates wouldn’t want to engage in a messy primary.

“I just don’t see notable Democrats wanting to participate in a messy, protracted primary against the sitting president. It would be a terrible look for the party,” he said in the same forum.
