MMA atomweight titleholder Angela Lee Saturday announced on Instagram the death of her sister and fellow fighter Victoria Lee.
MMA Fighting reported Lee said that “our family has been completely devastated” since her sister’s death on December 26.
Victoria is relatively new to the MMA scene. She made her debut in February of 2021.
“She has gone too soon and our family has been completely devastated since then,” Angela Lee wrote. “We miss her. More than anything in this world. Our family will never be the same. Life will never be the same.
The Bleacher Report reported a third sibling Christian Lee also competed as a MMA fighter. Christian is a double champion in One.
Angela had a 3-0 record and was set to battle Zeba Bano on January 13 in Bangkok, Thailand. She was just 18 and described by CBS News as a rising star.
One Championship also confirmed Lee’s death.
“The ONE Championship team is devastated over the tragic passing of Victoria Lee,” the company said in a tweet. “We send our most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time.”
(Correction: An earlier version of this story identified Christian as a sister. He is a brother. We regret the error)
