A new trailer featuring Simu Liu and Phillipa Soo of Broadways’ Hamilton fame has just been released.
The movie One True Loves is a romance movie based on the novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reed.
The film also features Luke Bracey, Jesse, who plays Soo’s husband, but disappears after his helicopter reportedly goes down into the ocean during a trip.
After a period of mourning, she runs into an old friend, Sam, played by Liu. A romance blossoms and the two become engaged.
But as Soo’s life (Emma) begins to recover from her tragedy, a major twist. She learns her husband is alive and she must now choose between the two men.
“I hope that they’re moved,” said Soo to Entertainment Tonight. “I hope they’re emotionally moved by this story.”
Liu of course hopes that Soo picks him.
“I think like anyone else reading through the book or watching the movie, I think you flip-flop. You go back and forth. It’s not supposed to be an easy decision,” he said. “At the end of the day, I look at Sam, I look at what he stands for, and I think Sam is better for Emma. I do. Sorry. Sorry not sorry.”
