“I am so thrilled and honored to share that I will be stepping into the incredible role of Aang in the upcoming ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ animated film! Let’s do this 🙂 YIP YIP!,” said Nam in his recent Instagram post

Along with Nam voicing the lead character of Aang, actor Dave Bautista will play the villain. The film will also feature Dionne Quan as Toph, Jessica Matten as Katara, and Román Zaragoza as Sokka, Gizmodo reported.

The movie will be directed by William Mata and Lauren Montgomery, who are known for their work on the original animated series Avatar which ran from 2005 to 2008, Variety reported. The film’s executive producers include original creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, alongside Eric Coleman.

The plot of Aang: The Last Airbender has not been announced. However, the timeline of the film will take place between the ending of the original series and the sequel series, The Legend of Korra, released in 2012, according to News 18

With creators of the original series heading these franchise installments, fans “eagerly await the next chapter in the Avatar universe, poised to embark on a new adventure with Aang and his companions,” Variety reported.
