By now, young fans of Darren Criss know the story because they helped to make it happen.
Criss rose to fame after he wrote and starred in a video parody of Harry Potter that became a viral hit on You Tube, A Very Potter Musical.
That lead to the then University of Michigan student to launch Star Kid productions with the co-stars of his Potter parody.
“That was the first taste of people paying attention to me,” Criss said to the Los Angeles Times. “It was overwhelming, it happened by accident. It was right at the advent of the viral video.”
Criss told the Times “it takes a lifetime to be overnight sensation.” He knew at an early age he wanted to be a performer. The 26-year old says he’s been working on it ever since.
