Kamala Harris & Jimmy O.Yang to get out the AAPI vote

CATEGORIES

Vice President Kamala Harris will join Asian American celebrities and political leaders to get out the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander vote.

The event produced by the AAPI Victory Fund and The Second City comedy club will take place this Sunday, November 6 at 1:30 pm.

Among those expected to attend are comedian Jimmy O. Yang, host Jeannie Mae Jenkins, the Linda Lindas, activist Amanda Nguyen and rapper MC Jin.

Also joining the Vice President will be U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Il) and Mayor Aftab Pureval (D-Cincinnati).

“The sole purpose of the AAPI Victory Fund and The Second City Get Out The Vote event with Vice President Harris is to empower, mobilize, and recognize the power that the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community has in this November’s critical midterm elections. Just two years ago, our community showed up in record-high numbers as the margin of victory in several key battleground states, helping to defeat a president that knowingly and intentionally put our lives at risk, and we are determined to once again, rise to the occasion,” said Brad Jenkins, president of the AAPI Victory Fund.

Jenkins told AsAmNews he expects Asian Americans to come out in record numbers for a midterm this Tuesday. He says polling shows Asian American, Pacific Islanders and Native Hawaiians are highly motivated to vote this election.
