Michelle Yeoh is riding a high.
Coming off her big wins at the Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe Awards for best actress, she will be on the cover of People Magazine which comes out Friday.
Yeoh shared the cover on social media along with an excerpt from the featured article about her stardom.
The same excerpt was also published by People on its Instagram account.
“Michelle Yeoh is an icon. Some Americans may be only recently recognizing what an icon she is, but for a large part of the globe, her fame has been growing for 40 years. Yeoh cut her teeth in dozens of Hong Kong martial arts films in the ’80s and ’90s.
“But, at 60, after more than 40 films totaling nearly $4 billion at the box office, she is now nailing a career high: a Best Actress Oscar nomination for the trippy, sci-fi-multiverse-meets-family-drama film Everything Everywhere All at Once.
“Many have noted that this is a rightful career punctuation mark for Yeoh. (The same people are still harrumphing at her Oscar snub for Crazy Rich Asians.) But anyone who really knows her — including Yeoh herself — will tell you she’s only getting started. Pick up the issue on newsstands Friday, and tap the bio link for the full story. | 📷: @yutsai88
It’s great to see what her fans especially around Asia and elsewhere in the world already knew is finally being discovered in the United States.
