Where can you find some of the best Filipino food in the United States? Apparently, the answer is San Francisco.
The Price of Meat, an organization dedicated to helping people find high-quality meat, released a report showcasing the 20 best cities for Filipino food. San Francisco came out on top in a list including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Houston, San Jose and San Diego.
According to Baystreet, the report assessed each region based on its number of Filipino restaurants, food award nominations, number of Jollibee’s locations and consumer interest by metro area.
The results highlighted the fast-growing popularity of Filipino food in the United States. Cities like Seattle, Honolulu and Las Vegas all reflected a high population consumption of Filipino food with its decadent array of restaurants and burgeoning communities.
“This report is not just about recognizing the best cities for Filipino food. It’s also about celebrating the cultural diversity that makes our nation’s food scene so vibrant and unique,” said Robert Greene, the team leader of Price of Meat.
Today, San Francisco stands as the second most populous region for Filipinos in the U.S, forming about 4.6% of the city’s population.
The city celebrates its extensive connection for the culture in the form of annual festivals and events. There remains no shortage of authentic restaurants either that offer delicacies like lumpia, adobo, pancit and halo-halo.
