Former Google executive Aparna Chennapragada has been chosen to help spearhead artificial intelligence projects at Microsoft.
According to Business Today, Chennapragada has been brought on as corporate vice president at Microsoft. She will now lead AI initiatives within Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Designer.
Chennapragada has years of experience in the tech industry. According to American Kahani, she began working at Google in 2008 and led several teams throughout her 12 years there. Before she left she was the vice president for Consumer Shopping.
After Google, the tech executive went to work for Robinhood, a stock trading app, where she became the chief product officer. Her new position at Microsoft gives her an opportunity to dive deeper into AI work.
“I’ve always thrived on building and scaling products that combine deep foundational technology and intuitive user experience to solve customer problems — whether it is Search that instantly finds relevant information, Assistant that you can talk to, or Google Lens that lets you search what you see,” Chennapragada wrote in a LinkedIn post about her new position.
“With generative AI, there is an opportunity to build products that instantly and easily bring your intent and imagination to life. That’s why I am super excited to share that I am joining Microsoft as Corporate VP leading efforts on AI-first creation experiences, across #Microsoft365 and #MicrosoftDesigner,” she added.
