Family and friends paid their last respects to Angelica Bravo Tuesday, the Sacramento, CA mother of two children who have been missing for five weeks.
Police found the 28-year-old woman dead in her ex-boyfriend’s home. The cause of death has not been determined. Her ex, Camron Lee, has not been named a suspect in her death, but KCRA reports police believe he took the two children he shared with Bravo, four-year-old Athena Lee and two-year-old Mateo Lee.
“I know there’s someone out there that knows where they are. I just need them to tell us. I just want them to come home. I want them to be safe and to know that they’re loved. We need them back here,” said a tearful Dawn Bodea, Bravo’s mother to Fox40.
She says a good friend has put up a $10,000 no questions asked reward for the return of the children.
“Grateful for our family that’s surrounding us and people who are there for us but, yeah, it’s a lot,” she said.
Angelica’s brother Gilbert, 18, recently put a tattoo of his sister on his leg and wears a photo around his neck.
“A lot of emotions were going through my head, and just coming to the conclusion that I lost my sister, so a lot of just sadness and anger and a lot was just going through my head,” Gilbert said. “This is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life.”
The family describes the relationship between Bravo and Lee as abusive. Bravo’s grandmother, Carol Bravo, urged victims to speak up.
“You don’t have to put up with domestic violence. If you are in a situation where you have domestic violence and recognize it, please seek help,” she said.
