Grease Live! actress Vanessa Hudgens and model/actor boyfriend Austin Butler are facing federal investigation for allegedly carving their names into the precious Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona during a Valentine’s Day getaway, according to CNN.

According to policies set by the Department of Agriculture, “[d]amaging any natural feature or other property of the United States” is prohibited.

Hudgens and Butler could face a maximum $5000 fine and/or six months in jail.

“On Monday, Feb.15, we became aware — via media and public reports — of an Instagram posting by Vanessa Hudgens showing a scratching or carving of a heart with two names in it on a rock that allegedly is on the Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest,” said Brady Smith, a Coconino National Forest spokesman.

The couple took photos of their Valentine’s Day weekend in Sedona, many with the hashtag #sedonadreams, including the incriminating photo.

Although the photo has since been removed from her Instagram, Hudgens has already received scoldings on social media.

Meghan Mccain, daughter of Sen. John McCain, tweeted “What moron would graffiti on Sedona’s red rocks?! I hope Vanessa Hudgens is punished for carving on one of the most spectacular places in AZ”.
