Korean American hip hop & R&B group Aziatix is set to make its splash in the United States. The group made waves after releasing its debut album overseas in 2011 and has only been together two years.
The group recently signed an $11 million record deal with Cash Money Records which also features Nikki Minaj, Lil Wayne & Drake.
It talked with All KPop about its upcoming new album.
“To Koreans, it sounds like pop music, but in the US, it has an Asian feel,” said group member Flowsik. “We often hear that we have our own color and that our sound is new and unique.”
According to the group’s website, Aziatix was the first Asian American group featued on AOL. It credits the internet with much of its success.
“There is no market that is not important these days,” said group member Eddie Shin. “It has become a globalized market where you can reach the world through the internet. Even if we release an album in Seoul, we would immediately get comments from Peru.”
Aziatix debut U.S. single is set to be released as early as this month. You can read more about Aziatix on All KPop and listen to some of their music on the group’s website.
