The recent election of Pope Frances has brought a lot of attention to the incredibly large number of Catholics from Latin America.
While the number of Catholics from Asian counties is much smaller, its still significant, according to a blog post by Jerry Park in Patheos. By far the largest percent of Catholics in Asia are in the Philippines, 52.6 percent.
In the United States, that percentage is much higher among Filipino Americans– 64.5 percent. Vietnamese Americans are the next largest group of Catholics at 15.1 percent, followed by Chinese, Indian, Korean and Japanese.
