Justin Lin who’s credited with reenergizing the Fast & Furious franchise is putting the breaks on his involvement with the movie series.
He has directed Fast & Furious since the third installment, but the Indie Wire reports Fast & Furious 6 which opens May 24th will be his last. Like the others, 6 is expected to be a huge box office success.
Universal wants 7 to be out in the summer of 2014, but according to THR, Lin isn’t willing to meet the timetable Universal has laid out for the next sequel.
The director has a number of projects in the pipeline including LA Riots, the story about the acquittal of the police officers in the Rodney King beating, and Chinglish, an adaptation of David Henry Hwang’s stage play of the same name.
