Jeremy Lin and the Houston Rockets take on the lowly Sacramento Kings tonight in perhaps the biggest Rocket game of the season to date. A victory moves them into a tie with the Golden State Warriors for the 6th seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
Both the Warriors and Rockets have a huge incentive to get that sixth spot as the 7th seed will likely face the Oklahoma City Thunder of San Antonio Spurs.
“We’re going to have to find ways when things get slowed down and it’s an ugly, ugly, nitty-gritty type game … to pull it out,” the iSportsTimes quoted Jeremy Lin as saying. “We’re not going to be able to just get 105 to 120 points a game. We’re going to have to build on some of the good things we did today.”
The Rockets have beat the Warriors three out of four times this season and hold the tie breaker should the teams end tied in the standing. After tonight, both teams will have two games remaining with the Rockets appearing to have the easier schedule.
The Warriors must still play the Spurs at home and Portland on the road to end the season. The Rockets have two road games left against Phoenix and the Lakers without Kobe Bryant who is out for the season with a torn achilles tendon.
