New York City Controller and candidate for mayor John Liu called police spying of Muslim Americans unconstitutional today at a forum on Muslim and Arab American issues, reports the Daily News.
Liu became the most prominent of the candidates to take such a position.
“No offense to you guys here – how can anybody think that it’s OK to surveil or spy on people just because they’re Muslim?” said Liu,
