Japanese American actor Clyde Kusatsu has won the election for Sag Aftra president of the Los Angeles local, reports Backstage.
“I’m extremely pleased so many members expressed their support for my leadership,” Kusatsu said. “I’m excited to play an even greater role in strengthening our union and I’m counting on Los Angeles members to join me in that effort.”
The Hawaiian born actor has starred in numerous roles since the 70’s. He is currently appearing in a recurring role on the popular soap The Young & the Restless.
Many may also recognize him from the Harold & Kumar movie, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.
He’s appeared on stage with the Asian American theater group, East West Players, had a recurring role on the legendary All in the Family, starred in All American Girl with Margaret Cho and had a role in the television movie Farewell to Manzanar.
