Asian Legal Business: Infosys Responds to Charge It Discriminates against Non-South Asians

CATEGORIES

InfosysSoftware service provider Infosys is denying charges it discriminates against Non-South Asians, reports Asian Legal Business.

The company from India is responding to a lawsuit by a rejected American job applicant Brenda Koehler who claims 90 percent of the company’s employees in the United States are South Asians.

“Infosys is an equal opportunity employer. We categorically deny Ms. Koehler’s claims,” the company said in an email to Asian Legal Business.  “We look forward to addressing the matter in court, and not in a public venue where facts can be mixed with rumor, opinion and speculation.”

Koehler is seeking class action status for her lawsuit, but the court has yet to rule on her request. She accuses Infosys of abusing the H1B visa system instead of hiring local workers.
