The nurse in Dallas infected with the Ebola virus while treating a patient has been identified as 26-year-old Nina Pham, reports ABS CBN.
Pham reportedly contracted the disease while wearing a mask, gown, shield and gloves. Authorities are trying to figure out how that happened.
“A breach in protocol may be, that the protocol is fine,” said Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “They were not trained properly.”
The man she was treating, Thomas Eric Duncan, is from Liberia and died Wednesday.
Pham is now clinically stable.
