Star Trek’s John Cho to Guest Star in Disney Animated Show on Lunar New Year

Actor John Cho, who portrayed Sulu in Star Trek: Into Darkness, will be guest starring in the award-winning animated television series Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Based on Disney’s Peter Pan franchise, this Disney Junior show follows a band of young pirates, who compete for treasure with the conniving Captain Hook.

According to NBC News, Cho will be lending his voice as Captain Chen on the episode “The Golden Dragon”, which will air on the morning of Lunar New Year, February 8.

Cho character wears a Chinese armor suit that makes him look like he belongs more on a horse than on a ship with a group of pirates, and a helmet with the Chinese character for dragon written on it.

He lands aboard a ship and loses his magical dragon tooth necklace. Captain Jake and the rest of the pirates help Captain Chen to recover it.
