Randall Park is set to join the cast of Ant man and the Wasp, a sequel to the 2015 hit, Ant Man.
Tracking Board reports Park will play Jimmy Woo, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
If you need a refresher course on the Marvel universe, I know I did, Inverse reminds us Jimmy Woo is a leader with Agents of Atlas, and is part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. family. Fans of graphic novelist Greg Pak will remember Woo made an appearance in Totally Awesome Hulk #15 through 18..
Woo originally appeared in Yellow Claw in 1956. While Yellow Claw died a quick death, Woo lived on. According to Wikipedia, Woo returned in 1967 as part of S.H.I.E.L.D., in Strange Tales #160.
He was also part of Godzilla in the late 70’s and Agents of Atlas in 2006-2007.
So far there’s been no comment from Park on his new role.
He’s set to appear this summer in both Snatched and The House and later in The Disaster Artist with James Franco. He’ll resume his role as Louis in season 4 of Fresh off the Boat this coming season.
Ant Man & the Wasp is set to be released in 2018 with Evangeline Lilly, Hannah John-Kamen, and Paul Rudd in lead roles.
