Over the past couple of months we have seen bigotry, hate, and racism emerge with the election of Donald Trump. With the Charlottesville incident, this has become more evident than ever. In this time of desperation, when we need our president the most, he has failed to live up to his duties.
However, national leaders of color have actively come out to let the president know when and where he has made mistakes. One such leader, Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), blatantly expressed her feelings about President Trump failing to acknowledge the underlying issue of racism through her social media outlets.
There are not “many sides” to this. My thoughts on Charlottesville. https://t.co/wR8DxyTljG pic.twitter.com/Rrgw1pNv3B

Unlike the president, she believes that when the confederate flag is being waved, when Nazis are shouting racial slurs, and when white supremacists are gathering with torches, that there are not “many sides” to be blamed.
She is one of many that are angered and upset about the presidents reaction to a major attack on the nation. It is time for the entire country to work together to restore the environment of acceptance and unity!
