69-year-old Bernardino Gawala Bolatete is currently in custody at the FBI, accused of planning an attack on an Islamic center in Northeast Florida, reports Philippines Lifestyle News. The Jacksonville Police Department has been tracking him since early October after getting a tip about his activities.
A cop from the Jacksonville Police Department went undercover and befriended him in order to learn more about alleged his plan. The Washington Examiner furthers, “Bolatete shared his plans for the shooting that were recovered in recorded conversations” with the undercover cop after he sold Bolatete a gun silencer.
The Lifestyle News published some of those statements outlined in the criminal complaint..
“I just want to give these freaking people a taste of their own medicine, you know? They are the ones who are always doing these shootings, the killings.
“So we’ll try … we will try a Christian doing uh, terroristic [sic] act this time, hum, to the Muslims the, they [laughing] they doing it all the time. You know?”
He also posted pictures of multiple visits to a shooting range on his public Facebook page.
The FBI said he had enough equipment to see this suspected plot through.
