Ann Curry, whose one year stint as co-host of Today with Matt Lauer became fodder for the tabloids, may return to morning television.

Variety is reporting that Curry may join the anchor line up on the much newsier CBS This Morning. The move could be part of an anchor shuffle at CBS.

The popular Curry has reportedly been in preliminary talks with the Tiffany Network, although Variety reports that no discussions have been held recently.

CBS This Morning, which has long been the third rated morning network broadcast, currently is anchored by four newspeople- Gayle King, Norah O’Donnell, John Dickerson and Bianna Golodryga.

Variety says Dickerson is being considered for a new role at 60 Minutes and O’Donnell could replace Jeff Glor at the anchor desk of the CBS Evening News.

CBS News president Susan Zirinsky took on her new role just last week.

Sources tell Page Six that Curry is more interested in a role at 60 Minutes or hosting CBS Evening News.

She left NBC Today amidst wide reports of a poor relationship between her and Lauer. Her on air goodbye made for some awkward moments between the two and lead to a ratings surge for ABC’s Good Morning America.
