Awkwafina is flying high after being named to the cast of the live action remake of The Little Mermaid as the seagull, Scuttle, reports Variety.

Scuttle not only serves up comic relief, but plays the Mermaid, Ariel’s, best friend. This announcement comes days ahead of a big week for Awkwafina.
She plays the granddaughter in LuLu Wang’s Farewell which hits theaters July 12. The family drama features Awkwafina in her first prominent dramatic role.
