Speculation that Mindy Kaling is involved with bringing to the screen Ms. Marvel , the studio’s first Pakistani American and Muslim superhero, is gaining momentum.
We Got This Covered is quoting unnamed sources which tell it that the project is officially in the works for Disney Plus, the company’s upcoming streaming service. Those same sources say Kaling will be involved in some capacity.
Back in June, Kaling gave credence to the reports when she confirmed she has talked with Marvel Studios about the possibilities.
The character debut in 2013 in Captain Marvel #14. Ms. Marvel, aka Kamala Khan, has the ability to stretch parts of her body. She has already appeared in animated Marvel films and TV shows, but this would be the character’s first starring vehicle.
