Filipina allegedly harassed at Toronto School. Accuses “teacher” of telling her to “Go back to China.”

A young Filipina Canadian woman took to social media in Toronto minutes after she says a woman used racially abusive language while accusing her of trespassing onto a school park.

“I am extremely rattled,” Justine Abigail Yu said in a shaky voice directly into her cell phone camera. “I want to get this down while I can.”

Yu says while reading on a grassy area in a school across from her dad’s home, a woman approached her and told she she was on private property and shouldn’t be there.

“‘I’m going to call the police on you,’ Yu said the woman told her.

“Ok, but you’re right here with me. So what are you doing?

“‘I’m a teacher,”‘ the woman allegedly said.”‘There are signs here that say no trespassing,”‘ the woman continued, according to Yu. “‘Maybe you can’t speak English and you can’t read English. Maybe you should go back to where you’re from.”‘

At one point, the woman can be heard on camera blurting something out from a distance. According to Yu, she said “‘All Chinese people should go to jail.”‘

The audio is faint and its difficult to hear exactly what she is saying. But you can decide for yourself at the 2:40 mark in the three minute video.

Yu told City News she reported the incident to the  Ontario College of Teachers, the Toronto District School Board, and the Toronto Catholic School board in the hopes that someone can identify her.

A spokesperson for the Toronto District School Board says it is investigating to determine if the woman really is a teacher. She also said that while the school is private property, the park is open for the public to enjoy during non-school hours. The incident occurred on a Saturday.

“Apparently my reading a book in this park is so threatening to her that she wants to call the police,” said Yu. “This is your everyday Karen. and I’ve never experienced this before in my f*cking life.”
