Confrontation between dog walkers plays out on Facebook

By Louis Chan, AsAmNews National Correspondent

Have you ever walked down a hallway or street and the person coming towards you continues to walk straight at you expecting you to move out of the way?

Hoi Wah Ho says that happened to him in Ontario, CN. After he stepped aside to let the man and his dog past, Ho says the man’s dog pushed him off the sidewalk and onto the street.

“He made no apologies and told me to cross to the other side of the road and that the road doesn’t belong to me,” Ho told AsAmNews.

Fast forward a few days later and the two encounter each other again.

He says the man followed him all the way down the street, this time not only with his dog, but a big stick.

Ho felt the man was trying to intimidate him so he began recording the incident.

“I stood my ground and yelled back because I did not want him to follow my family around in this neighborhood,” Ho explained.

You can watch the confrontation play out in the video below.

The man tried to walk away from Ho several times, but Ho continued to scream at him using obscene language.

“I want to apologize beforehand and warn you that this is not the normal, regular me,” Ho wrote on Facebook. “I am normally a very relaxed guy and it takes a LOT for me to get this angry.”

“Shut your f*cking mouth,” the man screamed at Ho as he walked toward him with the stick and his dog.

The two momentarily calmed down and begin to have a normal conversation.

“Ever since I’ve moved here, you’ve had a problem. You walk around here not respecting anybody,” the unidentified man said. “You never say hi, you never cross the street.”

“I don’t cross the street?” asked Ho several times.

“I apologize for that,” the man says.

Ho accused the man of coming at him the last time with his big dog, which the man denied. He also denied coming at him from behind this time.

“You saw me coming,” the man said.

“You don’t own this sidewalk,” the man tells Ho.

“It upset me because he shows no remorse and continue to act aggressively and walk into my same direction,” Ho told AsAmNews.

He warned the man to stay out of his way as the man walked away.

Ho said it was important to stand up to the man to protect his family.

“He still sounded antagonistic when he had a stick and was pretending to swing it,” said Ho.

  1. Hoi wa ho over reacted. The man is clearly apologetic and trying to defuse the situation with someone screaming at him about an altercation between dogs that hoi wa ho didnt like. The stick maybe odd, but the conversation speaks for itself. can you really say hoi wa ho was being the mature one? As he also tried to pull the racist card when its clearly a dispute of differences. I dont think a person saying, “hey you never say hi to me when we cross paths and thats why we cant be friends” is someone trying to hit someone with a stick. Hoi wa ho attempt to make this a public thing is a testament to his immaturity to the situation which Clearly speaks for itself if you break down the dialogue word for word. Dude apologized, ho kept shouting “ are you calm???” And continues to berate the other man as if that’s how you talk to someone when trying to resolve a tense situation

Dogs do shit. As the other man seems to try to explain that he wanted his dog to be friends with his dog, which is being claimed as “ pushing” if you listen carefully, the other man explains so when they speak of loose leashes

But i heard apologies and i heard attempts to de escalate a hoi wa ho over reacting
