Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend posted a heart-wrenching photo of her on social media mourning the miscarriage of her unborn child.
The couple announced the miscarriage overnight.
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we never felt before,” they wrote.
They said despite numerous blood transfusions, they were unable to “stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed.”
The couple had planned to name the baby Jack.
“To our Jack, I’m so sorry that the very first moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home we needed to survive. We will always love you.”
The couple revealed Teigen’s baby bump in Legend’s latest music video, Wild. Over the weekend, they announced Teigen had been hospitalized due to complications of the pregnancy. They posted numerous photos of Legend in the hospital room munching on hospital food.
Teigen was about half way through her pregnancy.
Jack would have been the couple’s third child.
