Deadline reported exclusively Tuesday that Melvin Mar and Jake Kasdan, executive producers of Fresh of the Boat, are teaming up with executive producer Ajay Sahgal to develop a new series for ABC.
In The Son In Law, karma comes back to haunt a future son-in-law, as he struggles to gain the approval of his fiance’s parents. At the same time, he’s a difficult father-in-law for his daughter’s husband.
No actors have been publicly connected to the show, to date.
Mar and Kasdan are currently also producing Doogie Kealoha, M.D. which is coming to Disney+. Kasdan previously produced The Carmichael Show on NBC and consulted for Netflix’s Merry Happy Whatever.
