The NBA this week launched an investigation into reports of on court racism against Jeremy Lin.

The point guard said in a social media post that someone called him “coronavirus” during a game with the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Lin, however, has said he won’t be naming the culprit.

“What good does it do in this situation for someone to be torn down? It doesn’t make my community safer or solve any of our long-term problems with racism,” he said.

Shams Charania first reported the league investigation for the Stadium and the Athletic.

Lin currently plays for the G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors in Santa Cruz.

Kendra Andrews reported that Warrior coach Steve Kerr endorses the investigation.

Lin who has been outspoken on Asian American issues says the recent incidents against his community is inspiring a new awakening.
