The dad struck by a vehicle driven by a hit and run driver is recovering after doctors amputated his leg following last week’s accident.
Tu Lam loaded his son into a car seat when police say a Saturn SUV swerved into Lam, pinning him against the vehicle.
The victim’s brother says they hope the driver does the right thing and that the occupants of the vehicle turn themselves in.
“I don’t feel malice toward them. My hope is they bring themselves … to take the next step and call authorities … We must take responsibility first,” said Ben Xavier to News 10.

Xavier described the incident to Fox5 as an “accident that turned into a terrible mistake.”
A Go Fund Me page organized by him has raised more than 60,000 for medical expenses.
San Diego Police released a video of the suspect’s vehicle and a person getting out of it.
