A suspect has been arrested in connection with the beating of two Korean American women in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday night, WBAL-TV 11 reports.

Police say surveillance footage captured Darryl Doles beating the two female Korean owners of Wonderland Liquors in the 2000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Doles allegedly arrived at the store on Sunday night and forced his way into the store with a cinder block, WMAR reports.

In the video footage, one woman can be seen trying to stop the suspect from entering the store. The suspect eventually forces his way through and hits the woman with a cinder block. The woman’s sister attempts to come to her aid, but is struck with the block as well.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover the cost of the women’s medical bills.

Doles was located and arrested a few blocks away. Police have charged him with aggravated assault.

Robert Hur, the attorney representing the family pro-bono, made a statement on behalf of the family.

“We will continue to work with law enforcement to ensure that the attacker is brought to justice. While we are still learning the facts, one thing is clear, such shocking acts of violence against fellow members of our neighborhoods cannot go on,” said Hur, according to WMAR. “The family is grateful for the outpouring of sympathy and support. I urge everyone to do all we can to raise awareness and to speak out against bias, hate, and violence against any members of our city and community, including Asian Americans.”
