A man released on $10,000 bail after his arrest in the shooting of a 6-year-old boy is back in custody after outrage over the bail amount.
Deputies took suspect Ryan Le-Nguyen back into custody after a judge increased his bail to $100,000 during a hearing, reported USA Today.
Sheriff deputes in Ypsilanti, MI near Detroit accuse a 29-year old man of shooting a 6-year-old boy trying to retrieve his bike.
The boy’s father told Fox2 that his kids were playing outside when one of them left their bike in front of a neighbor’s home.
Arnold Daniel says his son Coby returned to get the bike when the neighbor came out with a sledge hammer. Words were exchanged and then the neighbor returned to his home and fired a gun through the front window, according to Daniel.

People reports the injury is not life threatening, however the boy’s family expressed concerned because of Le-Nguyen release
“I’m trying to figure out why he got a bond so low for trying to kill my kid,” the father told Ebony earlier this week. “Right now he’s not even processing what happened,” Daniel said about his son. “He doesn’t realize how close he came to not being here, but I do.”
A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Department said it received many calls from people upset that Le-Nguyen had been released.
