Good Samaritan intervenes in NYC anti-Asian attack

Police in New York City credit a good Samaritan for helping to chase away an attacker on an Asian woman on  West 26th Street, near Sixth Avenue Monday.

WCBS 880 reports the man is accused of approaching from behind and kicking the 23 year old in the back and the back of her leg.

A good Samaritan rushed in to help. That’s when police say the suspect pulled out a knife and continued to threaten both the woman and the good Samaritan.

The suspect then escaped the scene, but not before the New York Post says he screamed “F–k you, you f–king Chinese people, f–k you.”

Both victims escaped serious injury.

Later that same day, the Post reports a man screamed “F—king Chinese people!” at a 57-year-old Asian woman and her grandchildren.

The woman pulled one of children back before the suspect could touch the child.

The man ran off.

Both incidents are being investigated by the NYPD Hate Crime Task Force.
