The New York Daily News reports a teenager charged with a hate crime on Sikh men has been murdered.
Authorities found Vernon Douglas stabbed to death in Brownsville, NY.
They do not suspect the killer intended to murder Douglas to avenge the attack on a 70-year old Sikh man and a later attack on two others nine days later.
According to Pix11, police responded to a 911 call Thursday night on Rockway Avenue near Lott Avenue. The 19-year-old suffered fatal stab wounds to the chest.
It happened after an argument with an unidentified male. Police have not released a suspect description or identified a suspect.

The cases against Douglas in the attacks on the Sikhs were still pending. He had been arrested in those cases and released.
Investigators found a blade believed to be the murder weapon near his body. It was missing a handle.
Douglas had been accused of breaking the nose of Nirmal Singh. Later authorities said he mugged two men in the same neighborhood.
Police arrested him on April 14.
