Vigil held for mother killed in home invasion

Friends and family held gathered Sunday at a vigil in honor of Irah Sok who was killed on Friday, August 19.

The 36-year-old mother and businesswoman was shot to death during a home invasion robbery at her home in Everett, Washington. Three men reportedly broke into her home around 3 a.m.

According to KIRO 7, Snohomish County Sherriff’s Office says there was a verbal altercation between Sok and the suspects. She was eventually shot to death. Her husband Makara Sok suffered minor injuries but their son was not harmed.

At the vigil, Makara talked about how much he loved his wife, while holding back tears.

“I lost my wife, the love of my life, my best friend, my everything,” he said, according to FOX 13 Seattle. “My son don’t have a mom anymore.

Last year, Sok fulfilled one of her life-long dreams when she opened up her own photography studio. She specialized in family portraits. Her sister praised Sok for following her heart.

“She always taught everyone to follow her dreams and she did that,” her little said at the vigil, according to FOX 13 Seattle.

The suspects are still at large. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
