Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore album Guts is now No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.
According to Billboard, both Guts and her first album Sour debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. Music company Luminate said Guts earned 302,000 equivalent album units during the first week of its release.
The 20-year-old draws on her experiences as a teenager when writing her songs. But her music is being enjoyed by people of all ages, specifically a demographic of women who refer to themselves as “20-something teenage girls.”
“I actually think that I’m really excited by the way that people are getting behind artists that normally would be deemed for young people,” she said in an interview with PEOPLE Magazine. “I love interacting with fans who are my age and people who are going through the struggles that I’m going through in real time, but it’s been really fun also to experience those girls’ dads be like, ‘Wow, I remember when I was going through that heartbreak.’”
Rodrigo also recently announced dates for a Guts tour in 2024. She had originally planned to do 57 shows in the United States and Europe, but recently announced 18 new shows, Pitchfork reports.
