The San Mateo Police Department confirmed the death of a father, mother, and two 4-year-old twin boys in what appears to be a triple murder-suicide, on Tuesday.
The victims have been identified as Anand Sujith Henry (42), Alice Priyanka (40), and their twins Noah and Neithan, the Hindustan Times reported.
Authorities conducted a welfare check on the Indian American family Monday morning when they made the grim discovery.
Police would not say who requested the check. But, a neighbor told KTVU that the grandmother of the children did after not being able to reach the family.
When officers arrived there was no response from inside the home. So, they searched the perimeter and did not see any signs of forced entry. Eventually, they found an unlocked window and got inside the house, NBC Bay Area reported.

“The male and female were located deceased from gunshot wounds inside a bathroom. A 9mm pistol and a loaded magazine were also found in the bathroom,” police said.
The father fatally shot the mother in the bathtub, before turning the gun on himself.
However, the children’s cause of death is still under investigation, CBS News reported.
“The children did not have any gunshot wounds. Unfortunately they were found deceased, so that will be part of the autopsy,” San Mateo police public information officer Jerami Surratt said.
The San Mateo Country Crime Lab assisted officers with evidence collection and the San Mateo County Coroner took custody of the four bodies. They are working with police to identify them and “gather evidence, speak to witnesses and family members, and determine a possible motive,” Surratt said.
Surratt added that the police had come to the house a few times in the past, but he is unaware of the cause of the calls.
“We are confident the person responsible was located within the home,” police said in a statement.
The neighborhood was shocked by the incident.
“You hear it’s an entire family and, of course, your mind goes to a place of what tragic event happened,” neighbor Ron Mifsud said.
The investigation is ongoing.

Sending my prayers for strength as the grieving family deals will the horrible loss of beloved family. A tragedy like this is so very sad and painful. We have to end the negative stigma regarding mental health issues, especially for men who can be looked down upon in society if they show weakness or admit they are having mental health issues. Hiding issues and not seeking help can cause ones issues to escalate until a tragic circumstance like this happens. Rest in peace Anand, Alice, Noah and Neithan!
