A fast-food outlet from Korea with locations in 27 states has been named the number one barbeque fast-food chicken in the United States.

The food magazine Taste of Home awarded BBQ Chicken its top honor. The international chain has locations in New York, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona and California, among others.

BBQ Chicken is known for its Korean-styled fried chicken.

The Asian News Network also reported the same magazine ranked BBQ Chicken as having the best wings in the country.

Taste of Home has a readership of 1.9 million with its website traffic averaging 20 million monthly visits.

“It is truly meaningful to surpass several global chicken franchises and capture the top spot in the United States,” the chain said in a statement to The Aristree.

BBQ Chicken boasts 700 locations in 57 countries. It is run by franchise opeator Genesis BBQ Group.

“What is more noteworthy is that BBQ edged out KFC, one of the most beloved chicken brands among Americans,” the company also said.
